Material Grades
ACS Grade:

Materials conform to the specifications and procedures outlined in American Chemical Society Specifications.

Analytical Grade:

Materials suitable for most cell culture and molecular biology applications.

Bacteriological Grade:

Materials suitable for most cell culture and molecular biology applications.

Biotechnology Grade:

Materials are equivalent to Ultra Pure, but particularly suitable for use in Molecular Biology applications. Tested for specific contaminants such as nucleases and bacteria where appropriate.

BP Grade:

Materials conform to the specifications and procedures outlined in the British Pharmacopoeia.

Certified/Certifiable Grade:

Materials are typically dyes and stains, which meet the requirements of the Biological Stain Commission. Certified reagents have been tested and validated by the Biological Stain Commission.

Conjugation Grade:

Material suitable for enzyme conjugation.

Electrophoresis Grade:

Material specifically for Electrophoretic Applications.

EP Grade:

Materials conform to the specifications and procedures outlined in the European Pharmacopoeia.

FCC Grade:

Materials conform to the specifications and procedures outlined in the Food Chemicals Codex.

High Purity Grade:

Materials of superior quality where there are no published standards.

Histology Grade:

Designates materials that are specific for use in Histology, Immunohistochemistry and Histopathology applications.

HPLC Grade:

High purity solvents suitable for HPLC and mass spectrometry.

JP Grade:

Materials conform to the specifications and procedures outlined in the Japanese Pharmacopoeia.

NF Grade:

Materials conform to the specifications and procedures outlined in the National Formulary.

PFGE Grade:

Material suited for Pulse Field Gel Electrophoresis.

Proteomics Grade:

Materials conform to the requirements of protein research, which are tested to be nuclease, DNase and/or protease free where applicable. Appropriate for use in Proteomic research applications.

RIA (Radioimmunoassay) Grade:

Determined as materials suitable for use in ELISA or other immuno-based staining or detection systems.

Reagent Grade:

High Purity materials which meet the specifications noted in AMRESCO’s Biotechnology catalog.

Sequencing Grade:

Materials designed for use with automated capillary sequencing equipment.

Technical Grade:

Designates materials of selected commercial or industrial quality.

Tissue Culture Grade:

Materials of high purity, suitable for use in Tissue Culture applications.

Ultra Pure Grade:

Material with a purity level exceeding the various monograph grades.
